This one day workshop that will help counsellors and therapists provide integrated treatment planning when working with clients who have problems with compulsive sexual, drug taking and Internet behaviours. The workshop is intended for social workers, psychologists, sexual health and AOD workers, therapists in private practice, relationship counsellors and medical practitioners.
The workshop will:
- Review patterns of problematic on line behaviour and chemical misuse
- Enhance sexual history taking skills
- Present a wellness model of sexual health and relationships
- Introduce resources that can be used for individual and group interventions
- Provide culturally information for work with members of LGBTI communities

About the presenter:
Dr Weston Edwards is a psychologist with 20 years experience addressing human sexuality, substance abuse and mental health concerns. He has worked extensively with LGBTI populations. In his work Dr Edwards emphasises sexual wellness/sexual health when integrating long term mental health and recovery from chemical misuse. Dr. Edwards is the clinical director at an outpatient mental health program in Minneapolis MN where he also developed and supervises the sexual health component of an integrated residential dual-diagnosis chemical dependency treatment program. Apart from his work as a trainer, he contributes to professional trade journals and also present at conferences and workshops. He has published several books including the acclaimed Living the Life I Love which is in its second edition.
